Katamari Autonomy

“But, in the meantime, I decided to do an absolutely crucial bit of game science. Something that I am entirely sure is mulled over constantly, but never properly investigated. The question is best stated thusly: how long would it take the Little Prince to roll up an entire room based on a random path algorithm?
How long [...]

I thought that this game was very well thought out.
Good job! Very unique. I love the ability to “warp” the enemy to another board.
This seems like new gameplay mechanics - never seen this before. Very well done !
I’d never seen anything like it before.
Have not encountered too many game master variants that place [...]

FLIP’N’GRABAMARI!!!!!(Gleb)

Comments on Originality

pretty different… based on throwing skill
I feel like I’ve flipped/thrown coins onto things before…carnival games maybe??
Contains elements of carnival games with tabletop multiplayer action. core gameplay not too original, but overall a fresh feeling.

Comments on functional elements

workable
Pieces looked cleanly made, but fact that they moved around so much when object is thrown on [...]

Like Risk, but more complicated … an accomplishment indeed.
nice take on classic tabletop RTS like risk and axis and allies with a neat katamari twist
Like Risk? But good incorporation of Katamari spirit and details of ring power and bas stations of course.
It was kind of like Risk, but with some original elements.
Risk with [...]

the use of multiple paths based on katamari size was a very nice original idea to add to a maze racing game
A very different game!
The game had few interesting elements such as having to switch paths based on the size and “atacking” pieces. For majority of it though it seemed to be travel [...]

A good not-too-literal interpretation of Katamari’s mechanic.
Awesome job.
pretty unique
awsome take on magnets and katamari - the dual level gameboard was a great idea. Also using the magnets power as a game mechanic was a great idea
Very good, totally different. It took the direction of the video game in a literal but new meaning. [...]

Comments on Originality

Had the structure of a normal board game, but more points for incorporating a peg board and cool game bits.
Based on chance, much like candy land etc… could definitely work for a younger demographic though
Just a straight forward board game with not much, if any, strategy involved.

Comments on functional elements

No flaws in functionality!
beautifully [...]

Comments on Katanopoly (Allen)

Comments on Originality

too similar to monopoly
not original - themed simplified monopoly clone

Comments on functional elements

You did a GREAT job on the board the ball and man but totally didn’t try when it came to the property pieces. I mean, “tear off a piece of paper and write your name on it — i think?” Not [...]

Definitely stretched yourself … never really seen anything like it.
quite different from the original game
This game play model seemed very unique I havent seen this gameplay before
Completely different form other games! Good thinking.
I actually never played a guessing game with this kind of mechanic before. I guessed numbers and words in many games, [...]
