My Phenakistascope was fireworks. I thought that fireworks would work well as you could show the animation. My first design used vector graphics to show the motion of one firework being launched off of a boat. The design was created using vector graphics. The interior showed water with a boat launching the firework. Unfortunately this design did not meet my aesthetic needs. Furthermore, the design lacked contrast of colors and thickness of stroke, so it was impossible to see the animation. My 2nd design used photographs that had been masked to show the animation, and a psychedelic design in the middle to emphasize the psychedelic nature of fireworks. Another added feature was the motion of numerous fireworks shooting off one after each other, to create a continuous cycle of the grand finale of a fireworks show. My third design took this one step further by increasing the size of the wheel and adding a few more frames. As a result my animation was more clear.
