Project C: Process

The Concept:

I am intriqued by the way people can view the same piece in a variety of different ways. I wanted to capture and experiment with this concept and so I based my project on this idea. My idea was to give a variety of people the same materials and see how they used them to compose different images purely based on the way the person chose to arrange the images.

I thought that this might be a successful project since the purpose is to find a process that seems constraining, but is capable of producing a visual variety since each person will have to use the same images and the variety is completely dependent on the individuality of the person.

 

The Process:

Step 1: Choose 16 images.

Step 2: Cut a frame 6 in. by 6 in. from white paper.

Step 3: Tell a friend that they may use any of the images to produce a composition that will fit in the 6 inch frame.
