"Knock~knock"
by Ghosh

"Knock~knock" explores our notion of perception and space within the context of a responsive environment. The projection of an open door on a blank wall draws the viewer towards it. However, the door closes when the viewer gets closer. Knocking on the wall reopens the door; however, as the viewer walks towards it, it closes back again. This piece evokes a sense of irony and humor, by subverting our comfort with familiar environments. It uses camera vision techniques, knock sensors and custom software to control the projection in real time.
