When thinking of what to do for my zoetrope animation I thought about Errki's poetic analysis of persistence of vision and our experience of movies. He described how it was because of our limited and simple nature of vision that allows for us to experience the magic of moving images. This degrading or reflexiveness of the our biological/optical limitations of vision is such an extrinsic part of both conceptualization and experience of a zoetrope that I felt compelled to address these ideas in my animation. I chose to do this by creating a thirteen cell animation of an open eye deconstructing to the point of being a closed eye that opens.
