process

invent an understandable process for creating a 6"x6" 2-d image. execute this process multiple times and select your three favorites to pin up for critique. on a fourth 6"x6" sheet of paper, print out a textual description of your process, which will also be pinned up. the goal is to find a process that seems constraining but is capable of producing a visual variety. how does variation introduce itself into repetition? Perhaps it comes from the individuality of the person executing the process; or it might come from differences in light in a location; or the choice of source material that is subjected to the process. although variation is important, if the final images are too different, then the process might not be understandable. in other words, one should be able to tell that your three images are from the same process.
