concept

The real drive behind this project was to make some noise behind the design department one person at a time. I wanted to do something on campus, something that would talk to my peers and tell them that d|ma is worth a damn. so what I came up with was to use my peers as my subject of this project, more precisely their footsteps.

I feel that, overall in desma 24, I have noticed that people are a huge part of my project. I don’t only use them as subject matter (like in this project), but these people help me get through my project. as seen with the gun, my roommate and floor mates helped me put together a little scene to make the gun more convincing. likewise, my friends were encouraging to convince me to really go after water with the xerox machine, which was a big factor that motivatted me.

I would also like to note how interesting it was to get the different reactions that I did. most people were too afraid or self conscious to really put a print down or to even stare at the project long enough to care why it was there. there were however a small percentage of people that were that made the time watching these posters much more enjoyable. these people made the most flamboyant ways of stepping or they just flat out were interested in the project and asked me to tell them about.

overall I got a really great response and am encourage to do more pieces on campus for my fellow peers to see what their fellow peers are doing right at this moment.
