concept the idea behind this project is to explore the most organic object, water, on the most synthetic, a xerox machine. I did this by laying down plastic wrap on the xerox machine and then placing water from my mouth onto the plastic. once laid out I would fold the plastic over to create creases in the plastic as well as trap the water. I really like the result because not only is there an exploration in the process (i.e. xeroxing water), but also in the result (the water trapped by plastic). conceptually I am very fond of bipolar themes. what I mean by this is to take extremes, the most left and the most right. I think this project plays on a larger scale of extremes as well because this completely art driven piece has created something that looks very biological at the molecular level. Overall I am really pleased with how the project plays with these extremes on many different levels.
