PS 6.1-
The dynamic site I have in mind for this class will probably use the multimedia,
database, and automation aspects of the web, as outlined in Cloninger’s
“Understanding the Web as Media.” I imagine that Flash would be the
best program to use for my idea. To use the multimedia aspect of the web, I am
going to have movement and animation going on in the background. It will be limited
and subtle, in order to prevent being distracting, but present enough to keep
the site moving, even if on a static page. The transitions from one page to another
will also be animated. It won’t be anything too extravagant, for I do not
want it to be a major distraction, but something enough to make a smooth transition
from one section to the next. The database element comes of course from all of
the reports. I will have all of the reports text put in, and possibly some of
the images related to each report. It will be sorted out according to the 6 sections
each report was supposed to have. In terms of automation, the user will be able
to choose between four ways to organize all of the reports. These four ways include
sorting it in alphabetical order of the reports, of the reporters, in a chronological
timeline, or grouped together by common features. This way, the user will be able
to see a larger organization of all of this information, allowing one to see a
general image of the nature of the Internet. It will allow possibly for an easier
comprehension of the Internet as a whole.
