What is Phishing?

Phishing is an attempt to aquire personal information (such as passwords and creditcard numbers) by use of fake websites or email messages, pretending to be trustworthy persons, for instance,from a bank).

It is called phishing because these emails are the "bait" which criminales use to "fish" for users information.
