assignment: Human Executable Program
name: I'M FEELING
Program: Get a piece of 8.5" x 11" colored paper and a pencil.
Look at your reflection in an object other than a mirror.
Fold the piece of 8.5" x 11" colored paper into thirds.
Unfold the paper so that it's flat again and the folds are horizontal.
Pencil draw the shape of the object that gives you your reflection within the boundaries of the center third of the paper.
Open a word processor. Orientatate the page the same as the 8.5" x 11" colored paper (portrait or landscape).
Think of a one word description of the object that gave you your reflection.
Type the one word description of the object- 72pt any font.
Print it, cut it out, and attach it within the boundaries of the bottom third of the colored paper.
Type the words "I'm feeling"- 72pt any font.
Print it, cut it out, and attach it within the boundaries of the top third of the colored paper.
Results: Two results to the left.
Expectations: Sometimes the objects that you surround yourself with give others information about who you are. I was hoping that the executor would select an object in thier home to look at themselves in. I believed that my classmates would execute in thier homes and not in a public space. That would give others a view into the executors world through the output. I assumed that the executor would use an adjective as the description of the object where they saw their reflection. In that way, it would make them describe themselves within the object to reinforce how the objects tell others about the executors. The top result is what I expected. The bottom is different from what I expected, and caused me to re-thinK the way the program was written.
I would change the sketch command to a refined drawing of themselves in the object, as the bottom drawing cannot be identified without the description as I intended.
I was also surprised that a noun was used instead of an adjective in the second example.
