Final Project
For the final project I have decided to do a collaborative effort between myself, and a fellow art major. It is our goal to make an interactive a sculptural interface that generates sound outputs based on viewer interaction. The nature and design for this project are ensure at this point, but I will keep our work updated as we go. For now, here are some links to the research that I have done into the field of sound sculpture installations...Research Together, my partner Thomas Roux, and I made several decisions about the direction project. And we also made many decisions on our own as well. Thomas is another art major, like myself, however he is taking a sculpture class and not programming, due to this, we decided to divide the work as follows, he constructed the physical object, and I wrote the program and designed the interface. We also decided that it was important to have the physical manifestation of the piece and the programming aspect have equal importance to the viewer. As a result of this, we decided not to create any visual output, because we figured that it would be too distracting. We decided that we wanted to have an inclosed space that was dimly lit that housed the switches that are used to manipulate the volumes of indiviual sounds. Here are our results...Results |
