Hurricane Warning

My original idea for the phenakistoscope was to create an animation of a tiger yawning by capturing frames of a tiger from a video and live-tracing the frames on illustrator. When I found that this created a very static animation, I decided that I wanted to portray the life and death of a tree. In class on Monday it became evident that this cycle was far to broad to depict on a phenakistoscope. So instead i chose to show a tree blowing in the wind. I found a video of a palm tree and live-traced the frames. I put the animation on a background of storm clouds, because the gray image of a palm tree in the wind reminded me of a hurricane.
