This animation shows the opening of an umbrella. Because the animation that works best with the phenakistoscope is one that is simple and easy to follow, I tried to work with more than ten frames to show a more fluid motion. Though the opening and closing of the umbrella is a bit fast, the end of the animation, as it is slowing shows the animation best before it stops.

The idea of making the umbrella in recongizable colors and shapes makes the tracking of the umbrella easier and makes it the animation stronger.

The original scope only contained 10 frames which proved make it much harder to follow the motion. But by increasing the frame count to 16 frames, though still fast there is a much more fluid action. Also by coloring the figure and the umbrella the change in each frame becomes more apparemt.
