Project D: Phenakistoscope

Given my limited experiences in animation, I wanted to design something that is simple and easily recognizable. A rabbit chasing a carrot seems to fit into my ideal. Not only can I draw both objects with ease, but the relationship between the bunny and the carrot is something that everyone can understand. To further emphasize the point, I included a small-scale animation of the bunny eating its prize.

After Monday's class, I realized that my bunny is not recognizable as an animation. When the phenakistoscope is spinning, my drawing blends into the white background. Also, the smaller animation is so subtle that my audience cannot see it moving. To solve these problems, I changed the background color into a dark shade of green, and I replaced the smaller animation with flying carrots.
