GOAL

At first I was planning to play around with overlapping, lighting, and resizing in order to play God and set up a sort of life cycle for my spider, in which the stages of its life would be shown across the page.

BUT...as I was trying to manipulate the spider and pin it down while attempting to make copies of it, I realized how badly I wanted to LET IT GO!! This is when I formed a new idea in my head about what I wanted to accomplish with this composition.

My new goal was to convey the process of feeling trapped and controlled, fighting for your life, and finally running away. I wanted to emphasize the importance and beauty of freedom.

Additionally I liked this idea because I realized that the spider and I kinda wanted the same thing. I knew I wanted to let it go when it was squirming and writhing in its plastic prison.
