Class
This class focuses on the techniques of conceptualizing and making short films using digital video. We will practice how to create professional pieces of video work by using the student’s individual creativity to work around the typical financial and technical constraints of a beginning artist.
Schedule
Week 1 – 3
Research, conceptualization and realization of a very short, non-narrative video clip about the color “red”
Week 4 – 6
Analyzing sequences of important films, understanding their aesthetic keys and reconstructing a video in the form of a new interpretation consistent with your individual findings.
Week 7 – 10
Research, conceptualization and realization of a short, video-work about the “Accident”
PUBLIC SCREENING @ EDA
Assignments
1) All about “red”, digital slide show
2) “Red”, 10 second video
3) “Rip-Off”, ~3 minute video
4) “Accident” ~5 minute video
5) All video assignments have to be exported in usable data compression / file size to the D|MA class web site to be recognized as accomplished.
Grading requirements
Completion and personal presentation of all assignments and evidence of their accessibility on the D\MA class website are required.
